I love you

I love you. Three simple words that mean so much. Three words that my baby boy has heard thousands of times since he was born. I love you; what do these words mean? It means so much. It means spending time together, looking into each other's eyes and smiling, playing on the floor, getting on his level. Really and truly loving each other. The laundry, dishes, cleaning and organizing can wait. When baby boy is awake, I do my best to give him my 100% undivided attention. Even if he is by himself playing with his toys on the floor, he knows I am right there. If I am in the kitchen, he knows he can say something and I will come in to check on him. That is love, right there. That's what a momma is supposed to do; love your baby. Life is too short to do it any other way. The way he looks into my eyes when he is about to crawl and reach for a toy, to make sure what he is doing is okay. He needs momma's approval. Trust. Loving your baby and showing them you are there for them instills a sense of trust in them. This will carry through life. He will know that when he is having a problem with something he can come to me. I will always be there for him.

There are always times when I might be busy with something; preoccupied with the television, social media, this blog!, or talking with the hubs, and then a little special someone gets your attention. All I have to do is go down to his level and he reaches for me with his toothless, eh hem..one new tooth, grin, and gives you the biggest hug almost knocking me to the ground. These are the moments I'm talking about. The I love you moments. Take advantage of them. Pay attention. Be aware of his needs. Time flies. These moments will pass us by if we don't listen to them. They grow up WAY too fast. Hugs and kisses. Parker will be showered with them forever, like he has been in this beginning part of his life. He will forever be my baby. My firstborn. The child I dreamed about long before he was conceived. So baby boy, like the sign in your bedroom says, I Love You to the Moon and Back. Forever and Ever.

Love,
Your Momma
