Parker's First EASTER, 2013

What a great day we had celebrating Easter with our baby boy. Let's rewind a minute...the day before Easter we always go to an Easter egg hunt a few towns over. I couldn't wait to bring Parker. Although he can't walk yet, I knew it would be a good time for him! So we went, and of course had a great time. He went down the 10 foot bouncy slide and giggled the whole way. He loved holding the plastic eggs and checking out all of the other kids who were there. Uncle David was in charge of selling the popcorn and Uncle Jameson took the tickets at the slide. Uncle Jack...well he was running around the whole time. What a great day!

Easter provided another opportunity for this momma to start some traditions for Parker that would last a lifetime. 3 things that I needed to happen on this day. #1. "Hide" Easter basket so Parker could find out if the Easter bunny made it to our house and see all the fun little goodies hidden inside. #2. Go to Church. #3. Spend the day with family and eat lots of good food. Well.... All 3 happened. And all 3 happened just the way momma had planned. When Parker woke up, he was greeted by plastic eggs at the top of the stairs that led him all the way downstairs and right to this basket... yep, that Easter bunny made it to our house! Beside his basket were some nibbled on carrots...yes, I know, he doesn't quite understand any of this... It's all for the pictures people! In a few years I will be able to show him what his first Easter was like, hence documenting it all with the lovely camera and iphone. When he woke up and saw the easter eggs he stopped in his tracks to play with the first egg he spotted. It's going to be a long journey downstairs if he is going to want to touch every egg leading to this basket, I thought. Once he made it to his basket...which the Easter bunny placed on his recliner (next year we will really hide it!), he took out all the goodies and explored everything. Lots of eggs, puffs, a toothbrush, chalk, sippy cup, Easter book, cheerios, etc. Yup..no chocolate..in a few years little boy! After relaxing at home we got bathed and went to Church. He is Risen! Parker wore his new green khaki pants with a white collared button down and his green and navy sweater vest. Handsome boy I tell ya! After Church we came home so Parker could nap and Uncle David and I decorated the 40+ cupcakes I made. Around 1ish we headed over to Aunt Courtney's house for the Easter gathering of lots of family and friends. What a good time was had by all! And the food....DELISH. Salmon, lamb, mac n cheese, veggies, bread. YUMM-O!!! Oh...and the dessert.. My FAVORITE pie that my Uncle Dan always brings to get togethers...Ricotta pie. To.Die.For!!! And that my friends, was Parker's First Easter. Now you can see for yourself how great the day truly was. I hope that every Easter is as special as this one was. I was a very happy, satisfied momma at the end of the day. Just the way it should be.

I just LOVE this picture. It captures a beautiful sleepy, freshly woken up baby boy...who has just spotted his Easter basket.
